Abstract

Assistive technology refers to devices, programs, or systems that help people with impairments perform more effectively. Adaptive technology, a subclass of assistive technology, specifically caters to individuals with impairments. Children with learning disabilities, or class of children with cognitive impairments, can benefit from assistive and adaptive technology. Intelligent assistive technologies (IAT) are designed to provide personalized help and accommodations for students with learning difficulties. Assistive technology can help students learn and bypass areas of difficulty, promoting independence and self-reliance. People with cognitive impairments can benefit from assistive technology in areas like memory aids, communication tools, navigation aids, and sensory aids. It is important to consider individual needs and involve family members and experts in the selection and use of assistive technology. An assistive learning environment can be created for students with learning disabilities by adapting content to their needs.
