Abstract

BackgroundIncreasing digitization means an enormous change for surgical oncology patient care. The challenge lies in development of new technical assistance systems on the one hand, and in device networking and practicable operability for surgeons on the other. Results and conclusionPromising national and international projects are addressing the question of how the quality, safety, and user-friendliness of these digital operating room (OR) systems can be realized in concrete terms. In the context of clinical research, initial practical implementations are already demonstrating the clear benefits of such modern ORs.
