Abstract
Abstract The paper refers mainly to German research, but draws on the results of other European and US studies. It gives a short introduction to German education policy and school organization as background for research projects. It outlines the research projects on the integration of visually impaired school children and students, and summarizes and evaluates their findings. Finally, it gives an overview of trends and raises questions and tasks for future research.
