Abstract

During Covid-19, manufacturing industries have faced problems due to lack of Remote Access system for manufacturing operation whereas IT sector has had a tremendous increase by leveraging the Remote Access system. In this paper, a Remote Access system is formed by integrating the existing technology such as SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), Microcontroller, OPC server, Internet, Sensor, and Actuator which facilitate controlling and monitoring manufacturing operation remotely. Sensor send operation data to Cloud via microcontroller (Arduino). Cloud computing processes the data and provides information to user in analytical form such as chat, graph, table etc., via HMI (Human Machine Interface). Through HMI the user monitors and controls the manufacturing operation by sending signal to actuator via microcontroller. This process integrated Human intelligent with machine capability. Viability of the proposed methodology is validated through simulation model design on Proteus and Wonderware Intouch. To find features and issues of Remote Access system we have done analysis of the simulation model and work done by different author in similar field. From this study, we realise that the Remote Access system is possible but it will not be effective until the infrastructure of IIoT (Industry Internet of Things) is developed.
