Abstract

Demands placed on the 21st century organizations because of the changing environment of work have increased the need for employee assistance practitioners to become knowledgeable in organizational assessment and development. This article presents some of the current issues facing organizations and discusses some of the major organizational behavior theories and management models. Such knowledge can add significantly to employee assistance programs (EAPs) in helping meet organizational needs most effectively and efficiently.
