Abstract

Urban centers, irrespective of their size, grapple with critical issues concerning urban transport, parking, and environmental preservation. Finding solutions to these challenges requires proactive measures, such as research initiatives yielding practical applications. Sustainable innovation flourishes through collaborative efforts across diverse sectors, encouraging mutual learning and optimal solution generation. Embracing the principles of sustainability, one promising approach lies in the Smart City concept adoption. This study delves into the significance of the Smart City paradigm, emphasizing the integration of the Quadruple Helix model, with a specific focus on the involvement of the fourth helix – society. The paper explores societal engagement in shaping Smart City strategies, as highlighted in a pre-development phase questionnaire survey, emphasizing the pivotal role of societal involvement in formulating sustainable urban strategies.
