Abstract
The Operator Model Architecture (OMAR) is a suite of software tools designed to support research and development in human performance modeling. Human operator models currently under development in OMAR possess the communication and collaboration skills required to evaluate the teamwork frequently required in the operation of today's complex systems. OMAR makes it possible to develop and evaluate system operating and maintenance procedures early in the system development cycle. Human operator and system maintenance considerations may be addressed as the system design evolves. The ability to meet these important human factors requirements at this early stage of system development promises improved system design and reduced life-cycle costs.
