Abstract

Environmental planning has not yet sufficiently considered climate protection and mitigation functions as well as the potential for combining mitigation measures with other landscape functions. The aim of this paper is to present a methodological approach which addresses this deficit. The assessment of climate protection functions of the agricultural landscape was based on exiting soil and land use data and was applied in a case study. The potential for synergies with other landscape functions and for site-specific multifunctional measures is also demonstrated in the case study.
