Abstract

In order to address the wind energy accommodation problem caused by the increasing wind energy generation, the integrated multi-stage coordination planning of transmission network and thermal generation units’ flexibility reformation is proposed. With the combination of the optimization of transmission network planning and thermal generation units’ flexibility reformation schemes, the flexibility resources of power sources and power grids are utilized to improve large-scale wind energy consumption. The time value of funds is considered into the formulated integrated multi-stage coordinated planning model to improve the accuracy of flexibility transformation of thermal generation units and grid development investment. The example analysis shows that the proposed method can guarantee the expected wind energy consumption, and reduce the operation cost and investment cost of power system.
