Abstract
An optical receiver with an integrated equalizer fabricated in 0.6μm BiCMOS technology is presented. The integrated equalizer compensates the bandwidth limitation of the Resonant Cavity Light Emitting Diode (RC-LED), large-area integrated photodiode and Plastic Optical Fibre (POF) link. Free of error transmission (BER=10 <sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">-9</sup> ) at data rate of 1Gbit/s is achieved for 50m POF length.
