Abstract

This paper focuses on the study of integrated fault detection and identification (FDI), control and communication design based on a fault tolerant networked control system (NCS) structure. Our objective is to achieve the overall system parametrization under the scheduled communication protocol, and then to design FDI and control algorithms aiming at meeting not only the real-time requirements but also the high control performance. Essentially, the core of our multi-layer structure and integrated design of FDI, control and communication is a distributed control station (CS) at the higher level and (local) feedback control loops (CLs) at the lower level. To illustrate and demonstrate the design issues, an academic example is presented.
