Integrate the Advantages of the Socialist System with Chinese Characteristics into the Whole Process of College Students’ Ideological and Political Education – From the Perspective of Fighting against COVID-19

Abstract

The COVID-19 epidemic has not only made a severe impact on people's life and health, but also brought many opportunities to college students’ ideological and political education. Some advantages of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics such as advantages of the unified leadership of the communist party of China, the value of people-centered orientation and organizational advantages of concentrating resources to accomplish large undertakings, the great spirit in anti-epidemic fighting and the governance advantage of self-revolution and self-improvement should be easily reflected from the process of the fighting against COVID -19, which should be timely and accurately integrated into ideological and political education. It is an inevitable demand for college students’ ideological and political education in new era. It is a concrete practice to implement the spirit of the fourth Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee. It is also a practical confirmation to enhance college students' confidence in socialism with Chinese characteristics, cultivate their patriotism and self-identity of the Chinese system. To achieve the above goals, we should make great efforts to the following four dimensions, giving full play to the role of ideological and political courses and curriculum ideological and political courses as the main channels, broadening the dimension of ideological and political education with the help of new media and new technologies, enriching the campus cultural construction to expand the field of ideological and political education, and participating in social practice to improve the quality of ideological and political education.
