Abstract
Let B be a commutative B*-algebra with identity and let A be a proper H*-algebra [1]; consider the trace class T(A) = {xy|x,y ∈ A} of A [4]. A T(A)-valued function p, defined on B, is said to be positive definite if Σi,ja*ip(x*ixj)aj is positive for all finite subsets {x1,…,xn} and {a1,…,an} of B and A respectively.
