Abstract

We consider an extension of the Hénon–HeilesHamiltonian to include higher order nonlinear as well as couplingterms which are relevant for coupled nonlinear wave propagations. Itis shown that the resulting Hamiltonian, in its generic form, isintegrable for two regimes in the parameter space. The second integralof motion in each case is explicitly obtained. Exact localizedsolutions of the relevant governing equations for the coupled wavescorresponding to the two integrable cases of the generic Hamiltonianare also given.
