Abstract

The article presents the conditions and methods of installing the S2-3a digital flight data recorder on board MiG-29 and Su-22 aircrafts, carried out at Military Aviation Works No. 2 S.A. (MAW-2) in Bydgoszcz. The main components of the S2-3a recorder were discussed, developed at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) and intended for recording flight parameters and operational parameters of the main aircraft components, as well as for storing the recorded data. A method and means of analyzing data from the on-board recorder is presented, enabling the detection of malfunctions and the identification of operating ranges of on-board systems on the example of an automatic flight control system.
