Abstract

Tocored is one of the nonnegligible color bodies that would probably affect oil color. The aim of this present study was to investigate the effects of temperatures (50–150 °C) and ultraviolet intensities (254 and 365 nm) on the degradation of tocored. Results showed that the degradation of tocored under different temperatures and UV intensities all followed zero-order kinetics. The degradation products of tocored under both treatments were further detected and tentatively identified by UPC2-QTOF-MS techniques. These results will contribute to a better understanding how the industrial processing parameters influenced tocored concentration during the extraction, processing, and storage processes of oil industry.
