Abstract

Self-assembled architectures for the encapsulation and transport of anions and ion pairs are still rare. In their Research Article (DOI: 10.1002/anie.202201831), Max von Delius and co-workers used the dynamic covalent chemistry of orthoesters in combination with urea-based diols and triethylene glycol not only for the formation of a chloride cryptate, but also for the simultaneous encapsulation of both ions present in cesium chloride.
