Abstract

A covalent organic framework (COF) anode with acid–alkaline co-tolerance, long cycle life and high rate-performance was developed for aqueous batteries. In their Research Article (DOI: 10.1002/anie.202218745), Haiyan Zhang, Chunyi Zhi, Haiming Lv et al. designed the robust covalent linkage (−NH−) and the hydrogen bond network between -NH- and H2O, which collectively improve the chemical stability and promote the rapid conduction of H+/OH− by the Grotthuss mechanism. Thus the COF displays superior stability and rate-performance.
