Abstract

Three insecticidal sesquiterpene polyol esters were isolated from the root bark of Celastrus angulatus by bioassay-guided fractionation. Their chemical structures were elucidated as 1α,2α-diacetoxy-8β-isobutanoyloxy- 9α-benzoyloxy-13-(α-methyl)butanoyloxy-4β, 6β-dihydroxy-β-dihydroagarofuran (1), 1α,2α-diacetoxy-8β-(β- furancarbonyloxy)-9α-benzoyloxy-13-isobutanoyloxy-4β, 6β-dihydroxy-β-dihydroagarofuran (2) and 1α, 6β, 8α,13-tetraacetoxy-9α-benzoyloxy-2 α-hydroxy-β-dihydroagarofuran (3) mainly by analyses NMR and MS spectral data.
