Abstract

AbstractIn the first part of the paper some problems related to the formation of inorganic chains in polymeric backbones are discussed and the difficulties in the use of polymerization reactions in inorganic polymer chemistry are reviewed: the lack of suitable inorganic monomers; the tendency of inorganic ring formation; and the tendency of structure unit redistribution. In the second part several possibilities of introducing inorganic fragments in block and graft copolymers are reviewed.
