Abstract

An innovative technology is developed and implemented to increase the performance of turning tools during external machining of corrosion-resistant steels using new coatings for the ВК8 alloy. The performance of the tool is determined by the service life of replaceable standard cutting inserts. The allowable wear of 0,5 mm is accepted on the rear edge. The durability period is increased by up to 3 times without reducing of processing productivity and the quality of the treated surface.
