This study investigates the key determinants of cut flower vase life, focusing on the influence of pre- and post-harvest conditions and environmental factors. Addressing the commercial challenges associated with limited vase life, the research underscores the critical need for sustainable and eco-friendly floral preservatives to enhance flower freshness. It highlights the rising interest in plant-based extracts and biodegradable alternatives as effective substitutes for conventional chemical preservatives. These natural preservatives not only improve floral longevity but also reduce environmental impact when paired with optimized post-harvest management practices. The study emphasizes the growing body of research dedicated to extending the shelf life of cut flowers through environmentally conscious solutions.
