Abstract

Since the beginning of 2022, a group of young researchers anchored within the Department for Business and Human Resource Education at the University of Paderborn carries out research activities for the project ITiB (‘Innovation and Transfer Processes in the German VET-System’). Together with two other research groups, the ITiB project team conducts the accompanying research of the innovation competition InnoVET. The ITiB research group focuses on the exploration of innovation and transfer processes in the InnoVET context. Subsequently, the resulting knowledge is used to improve innovation and transfer processes within other organisational settings in vocational education. The current paper addresses the relevance of the project‘s research focus and presents the underlying research design. It concludes by outlining implications for research and design of innovation and transfer processes in vocational education.
