Abstract
Abstract This chapter first discusses the role of inhibition in task switching. It then provides a model case to highlight the problems and solutions that arise when invoking inhibitory explanations. The final section is devoted to n-2 repetition cost, the most commonly used and widely accepted marker for inhibitory processes in task switching. The chapter concludes by briefly discussing the role of inhibitory processes in formal models proposed to account for task switch performance.
