Abstract

Objective To observe and analyze the inhibitory effect of fentanyl on the intubation response during induction of anesthesia and the effect on the occurcence of choking cough. Methods A total of 110 cases undergoing general anesthesia were selected and divided into control group (n=55) and observation group (n=55) according to the double chromosphere method. According to the American Society of anesthesiologists (ASA) grade I-II, and control group was given general anesthesia induced routine injection of fentanyl, observation group was given general anesthesia induction time injection of fentanyl. The response to intubation, the patients in the two groups inhibition and patient cough were observed and analyzed. Results There were no significant differences in heart rate and blood pressure between the two groups (P>0.05); the incidence of cough in the observation group (5.45%) was significantly lower than that in the control group (38.18%) (P<0.05); the intensity of cough in the control group was significantly higher than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions During the surgery, the induction of anesthesia with fentanyl interval injection doesn’t affect the inhibition of the intubation response, and it is conducive to reduce the intensity and incidence of choking cough, and effectively ensure the effect of surgical treatment and speed up the recovery of patients, improve the quality of life. It is worthy of clinical application. Key words: General anesthesia induction; Intubation response; Cough; Fentanyl
