Abstract
Crosses were made with whitefish of Coregonus lavaretus complex and vendace Coregonus albula L. to establish the genetic basis of variation at enzyme loci. The alleles of Gpi-2, Gpi-4, Ldh-1, Mdh-2, Mdh-3, 4 and Pgm-2 were found to segregate in a simple Mendelian fashion in whitefish. Ck-1 and Mdh-3, 4 were found to segregate normally in vendace. The results of 10 cases of pairwise segregation between these loci are presented. All pairs revealed random assortment except Gpi-4 with Ldh-1, which showed almost complete linkage.
