Abstract
Inhalation therapy is a medical specialty which deals with the testing and treatment of physiologic pulmonary disorders. The responsible physician requires technical assistance. Education of technicians and therapists is out-lined in a curriculum covering a minimum of 18 months. This represents a two-year academic program. A physician is the responsible director and is assisted by a technical supervisor who is registered. Affiliation with colleges is encouraged for teaching the basic sciences. Collegiate courses are preclinical; the applied sciences and the clinical practices must be taught in the hospital setting.
