Abstract

The article deals with the formation and development of clusters in the priority areas of the region’s economy. The world experience of clustering and the possibility of its application in the domestic conditions at the regional and local levels are highlighted. The potential opportunities of clusters forming in the priority sectors of the economy are analyzed. It is proved that the promising directions of clustering the regional economy in the context of strategic guidelines should be aimed at strengthening the processes of inter-economic cooperation of priority areas of the regional economy. The paper also considers the role of infrastructure in the formation and development of regional clusters, the need to change the modern configuration of the innovative infrastructure of the region in order to involve enterprises of municipal districts and urban districts in innovative activities. An approach to the optimization of the process of placing the components of innovative infrastructure in accordance with the degree of innovative susceptibility of municipal districts and urban districts is proposed.
