Abstract
AbstractThe reflectivity of single crystals of BaFCl is measured in the wave number range from 30 to 5000 cm−1 at room temperature using a Fourier transform infrared spectrometer. The recorded reflection spectra are evaluated by means of the classical oscillator model and the Kramers Kronig analysis in order to get the TO and LO frequencies and the optical constants. The calculated effective dynamical charges of the involved ions are found to be in good agreement with the results obtained using a shell model.
