Abstract
The article examines the specifics of infotainment methods in popular science journalism. The study materials were author’s materials and articles published on the Internet platforms of popular science projects. As a result of the analysis, popular science formats containing infotainment methods were identified: audiovisual and text. Using the selected works as an example, specific features of such publications were identified: their goal is to convey important knowledge in a format that contains an appropriate style of presentation that allows understanding complex topics. In the course of the study, practical advice was formulated on simplifying texts on popular science topics. It was concluded that the main goal of using infotainment in popular science journalism is to convey a complex scientific theory in simple language and attract the greatest number of people to science.
