Abstract
ABSTRACT This article provides an in-depth analysis of computer museums. Currently, these technological artifacts from the recent past are considered as technological cultural heritage that deserves protection. The research focused on the organizational, financial, and legal aspects of establishing and running this kind of museum. The study was based on the practical experience of the founders of computer museums and the knowledge of renowned experts in the field. Based on the learnings documented in the academic literature certain recommendations have been selected to be the guideline for objects of this type. In the process, it was discovered that each museum had adopted a different vision for their development. They did share, however, the same idea to preserve the IT heritage but differed in the commercial application of their exhibits.
