Abstract

This chapter presents the situations of information literacy (IL) development in the context of higher education in Thailand and Vietnam based on literature reviews and previous research of the authors and related scholars. The topics include: (1) policies of the nations and authority organizations for higher education in relation to IL; (2) employers and markets’ expectations for the IL competencies of university graduates; (3) universities’ strategies for students’ IL development; (4) the IL learning ecology model.
