Abstract
Abstract A survey of faculty at a comprehensive college reveals highly active information gathering. Formal sources of information are more important than informal sources, and use of books and journals varies across disciplinary areas. A two-dimensional definition of information gathering is presented in terms of formal and global sources of information.
