Abstract
Smart cities call for the smart communication among vehicles, which requests for efficient routing schemes in Vehicle Ad hoc Network (VANET). As a kind of VANET, Vehicle Social Network (VSN) benefits from social attributes among vehicle drivers or passengers to improve the routing performance. However, traditional VSN routing schemes cannot well solve the mobilities of vehicles. Since Information‐Centric Network supports the mobility naturally, in this paper, we propose a information‐centric VSN routing scheme. An Information‐centric Utility‐based Forwarding Scheme is proposed to make optimal message forwarding among vehicle nodes, which the utility is calculated based on the devised message caching priority, the proposed interest similarity and the physical metric. Simulation results have shown that the proposed scheme has a great advantage on delivery rate and network overhead.
