Abstract

ABSTRACTThe piezoelectric micro-jet technology, which can achieve the drop-on-demand requirement, is based on the piezoelectric ink-jet technology. The injection performance of the micro-jet is influenced by the liquid properties as well as the applied pulse voltages. A direct coupling simulation method for analyzing the injection performance of a kind of micro-jet is proposed here. The forming processes of droplets inside the cavity at different time are given. The effects of the density, surface tension and viscosity of the lubrication oil on the molding time, molding length and velocity of the droplet are analyzed. Based on the comparisons between the simulation results and the experimental data, the direct coupling simulation method is proved to be an effective method to analyze the injection performance of the micro-jet quantitatively.
