Abstract
In metal forming the problem of friction reduction is of very great importance, for in practically all plastic forming processes high external and internal friction forces have to be overcome. The following experiments show that both types of friction can, under suitable conditions, be considerably reduced by the use of ultrasound. This paper was presented at the Spring conference of the German Physical Society, Acoustics Section held in Mainz on 13th April 1966
