Abstract
The effect of trace amounts of chromium on the microstructure and corrosion behavior of A356-5vol.%TiB2 composites was investigated. The results show that a small amount of Cr, Al and Si elements form Al13Cr4Si4 phase in A356-5vol.%TiB2 composite material. Al13Cr4Si4 has an obvious refinement effect relative to the size of α-Al grains and eutectic Si. Improve the continuity and uniformity of the passivation film on the surface of the composite material. The corrosion resistance of the composite material is significantly improved.
