Abstract

For improving the position accuracy of dead reckoning system, this paper discussed the influence of tire temperature on odometer's scale factor. The error model of dead reckoning was analyzed, an INS/Odometer/CDGPS approach was proposed, and kalman filter was used to calibrate odometer's scale factor with tire temperature. Experiment results show that this method can accurately calibrate the characteristics of odometer's scale factor, and the scale factor is linear to tire temperature. Vehicle navigation experiment is implemented according to the calibrated odometer, the position accuracy is 5 times higher than that without calibration.
