Abstract

Some catalysts supports are made from gelified alumina pellets. In the manufacturing process, drying can be an important stage in improving both texture and strength. In order to ease the comprehension of the phenomena, the drying of a pellet has been modeled with an Eulerian set of conservation equations (mass, energy and motion). A pseudo-elastic law issued from rheological experiments has been used to close the mechanical problem.
