Abstract

Influence of the current redistribution in the stabilizing matrix of a composite superconductor with nonuniform distribution of the superconducting component over its cross section on the normal zone propagation is calculated. Analysis of the problem in dimensionless variables allows one to find parameters determining the import of the effect considered. Parametric relationships for the normal zone propagation velocity are obtained under cooling conditions inadequate for steady state stabilization.
