Summary
Kenya’s economy is highly dependent on climate-sensitive sectors such as agriculture, water, fisheries, forestry and energy. According to Van Oosten, Uzamukunda and Runhaar (2018) the process of preventing or reducing land degradation and rehabilitating degraded lands is essentially a long-term development that requires the enactment of appropriate policies and supporting institutions as well as enabling environment that ensures participation of all stakeholders and land users This has led to both the national and county governments to develop environment and natural resources strategies. According to Wanjiku, Mwangi and Mwangi (2018) weak leadership can wreck the soundest strategy; forceful execution of even a poor plan can often bring victory It is on this premise this study intends to establish the influence of strategic leadership on implementation of environment and natural resources strategies in Nakuru County, Kenya
