Abstract

1. 1. [ 14C] antipyrine accumulation in the spinal cord lumbosacral enlargement of rats with cervical or thoracolumbar cord transection and its accumulation in the enlargement of normotensive and hypotensive rats without cord transection was compared. 2. 2. Overall, the pattern of antipyrine rise and fall in the first 15 min interval after intravenous injection of the compound was similar in all four groups of animals. 3. 3. The results indicate that spinal cord blood flow is qualitatively similar under the experimental conditions studied and thus drugs having physiochemical properties similar to antipyrine would be similarly distributed in the different preparations investigated.
