Abstract
The goal of the present paper is to compare the efficiency of electromagnetic treatment of water-in-oil emulsions using radio-frequency and microwaves between each other in terms of emulsion separation rate and also to compare the results with chemical demulsification technique based on use of demulsifiers. The results of experimental study were provided. Experimental studies showed that after electromagnetic treatment the process of emulsion separation is two to four times faster (depends on physical-chemical properties of the sample) compared with emulsion with demulsifier. Radio-frequency treatment demonstrated higher efficiency than microwave impact for all samples with low water content. With increasing water content of the emulsion, the efficiency of microwave impact increased.
