Abstract

The field experiment was conducted to ascertain the influence of Potash Releasing Bacteria (KRB) on growth and yield of sorghum for three years during Rabi 2019, 2020 and 2021 at Agricultural Research Station, Amaravathi. KRB biofertilizer was applied to the soil at the time of sowing with different levels of potash i.e. 100, 75, 50 and 25 per cent of recommended dose. Application of KRB enhanced the growth and yield of sorghum over 100 percent recommended dose of fertilizers. The highest yield was recorded in the treatment with 100% RDF with the application of KRB. Plant height (166.75cm), stem girth (2.45cm) was more in the treatment with 75% RDK+100% NP with KRB application whereas grain yield (2257) was highest in the treatment with application of KRB + 100% NPK and least in 100% NP + 25% K+ KRB (1350kg/ha). Soil N, P, K content and KRB population were increased due to application of KRB. And it was highest with application of KRB + 100% NPK and least in 100% NP + 25% K+ KRB. This study clearly showed the role of KRB in enhancing the yield of sorghum.
