Abstract

Objective To analyze the effect of perioperative high quality nursing intervention on patients with inguinal hernia. Methods 100 patients with inguinal hernia were randomly divided into an intervention group and a control group, 50 cases for each group. The control group received routine nursing intervention, including preoperative intervention and psychological intervention; in addition, the intervention group received perioperative high quality nursing intervention, including preoperative intervention, intraoperative intervention, and postoperative intervention. The intraoperative bleeding volume, time for postoperative off-bed activity, length hospital of stay, total satisfaction rate, and postoperative complications were compared between these two groups. Results The intraoperative bleeding volume was lower and the time for postoperative off-bed activity and length hospital of stay were shorter in the intervention group than in the control group [(65.98±6.57) ml vs. (84.62±9.17) ml, (18.93±4.62) h vs. (28.73±6.73) h, and (4.37±0.87) d vs. (5.98±1.20) d], with statistical differences (all P<0.05) ). The total satisfaction rate was higher and the incidence of postoperative complications was lower in the intervention group than in the control group (98.00% vs. 76.00% and 6.00% vs. 28.00%) (P<0.05). Conclusion Perioperative high quality nursing intervention has a significant effect on patients with inguinal hernia.
