Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of one-to-one teaching model combined with scene simulation teaching and regular intensive training of departments on post competency of junior nurses in department of traditional Chinese medicine. Methods Fifty-four junior nurses from the department of traditional Chinese medicine of our hospital from October 2013 to October 2017 were selected. According to the random number table, they were divided into control group and research group, with 27 nurses each. The control group took regular intensive training in the department, while the research group took one-to-one follow-up class combined with scenario simulation teaching method on the basis of regular intensive training in the department. Both groups continued to train and learn for 3 months. Before and after the training, the scores of relevant indicators of post competency, critical thinking ability and nurse-patient communication ability and the incidence of nursing errors in the two groups were statistically analyzed. Results After the training, the scores of implementing nursing measures in traditional Chinese medicine, formulating the nursing plan of traditional Chinese medicine, establishing nursing diagnosis in traditional Chinese medicine, application of four diagnostic methods, nursing operation of traditional Chinese medicine, nursing routine of traditional Chinese medicine, and the theoretical knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine were higher than those before the training, and the research group was higher than the control group , with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). After training, the scores of cognitive maturity, intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, self-confidence, systematic ability, analytical ability, and open mind of two groups were higher than those before the training, and the research group was higher than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). After training, the scores of network ability of coordination and communication, skills in sports communication, basic nonverbal communication ability, and basic language communication ability were higher than those before the training, and the research group was higher than the control group , with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). The incidence of nursing errors in the research group (7.41%) was lower than that in the control group (33.33%), and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusions One-to-one teaching model combined with scene simulation teaching and regular intensive training of departments can effectively improve the post competency of the junior nurses in the department of traditional Chinese medicine, strengthen their critical thinking ability and the communication ability of the nurse and patient, and reduce the incidence of nursing errors.
