Abstract
The torsional-vibration method is used to investigate the relationship between Neel-type magnetostatic coupling and the thickness of the dielectric interlayer in two-layer Co¦SiO¦FeNiCo magnetic films. A comparison is made with the Neel theory, and qualitative agreement is obtained for a layer 200 A thick. The observed discrepancy between experimental and theoretical values for thin layers is explained by exchange interaction between magnetic layers.
