Abstract

An experimental study was performed to explore the impacts of an enhanced tube in horizontal orientation over the flow boiling heat transfer characteristics of environmentally friendly refrigerant R-407c. The experiments were carried out with a constant saturation temperature of 10 °C using a variable refrigerant heat flux ranging from 10 to 80 kW/m 2 and a constant hot water side heat flux of 60 kW/m 2 . Hence, the heat transfer coefficient of the present investigation was indicated excellent enhancement; in contrast, the brass fabricated microfin tube revealed the vapor qualities up to 0.5, the heat transfer coefficient increased and subsequently decreased with the increase in vapor quality.
