Abstract
Objective To investigate the influence of high quality nursing according to hierarchy of needs theory on nursing efficacy of patients with stable COPD. Methods 92 cases of stable COPD in our hospital from April 2015 to January 2017 were selected and divided into two groups according to the order of hospitalization, 46 cases in each group. Control group was given routine nursing, while observation group was given high quality nursing according to hierarchy of needs theory. FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC, SF-36 score, and nursing satisfaction of the two groups before and after intervention were compared. Results Before intervention, the differences of FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC of the two groups had no statistical significance (P>0.05); after intervention, FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC levels of observation group were all higher than those of control group, with statistically significant differences (P 0.05); after intervention, the scores of each dimension of SF-36 of observation group were higher than those of control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). The total nursing satisfaction of observation group was higher than that of control group (93.48% vs.76.09%), with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion High quality nursing according to hierarchy of needs theory can promote pulmonary function recovery, improve life quality and nursing satisfaction of patients. Key words: Hierarchy of needs theory; High quality nursing intervention; Stable COPD; Nursing satisfaction; Life quality
