Abstract

The core of this research was the study of the stability of slopes in high and ultra-high benches, the analysis of the stresses and mechanical properties of the rocks and their influence on the geometry of the slopes. For this study, two fronts were selected from which the values of density and uniaxial compression were available. Both fronts were selected based on their operational experience, which allowed to analyze the stability values of slopes and stresses, so that 2 different analyzes could be performed to obtain their strength factor (SF). During the simulations, it was found that the quality of the rock had a greater influence on the results, as well as the height of the bench. It was found that at a height of 30 m there are no problems, but at a height of 50 m the values of SF are problematic, having a value of less than 1 at the top, at the intersection between the weathering mantle and the rock.
